SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all, at all ages

Healthcare needs to be treated as a universal right and not a first-world privilege. This can be a challenge in a developing country like India with a population of 133.92 crores. And the Human Development Index ranking of 2019 supports this by putting the spotlight on our strained healthcare systems. India ranks 129 among 189 countries for quality healthcare, further highlighting the need for healthcare infrastructure and disease prevention and control.

Why is good health the key to a developed world?

Poor health and diseases have a direct impact on the development of a nation. They burden family and public resources, affect communities, and limit potential. Which is why ensuring good health and promoting the well-being of the citizens are the building blocks of a healthier future.
